This policy describes how Ask Ewan uses cookies and similar technologies on this website. We keep tracking minimal and proportionate.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. Some are essential to run the site; others help us understand usage.

2. Essential cookies and storage

We use cookies or local storage required to operate the service securely, including:

• Authentication: session cookies when you sign in (via Supabase Auth), so you stay logged in.
• Admin access: a short-lived cookie for authorised admin sessions where configured.
• Pathway session: local storage may hold your in-progress questionnaire or pathway token on your device so you can return to your dashboard.

These are strictly necessary for the service you request. Under UK PECR, we do not need consent for cookies that are essential to provide a service you have asked for.

3. Analytics

Where enabled, we use Plausible Analytics configured without third-party advertising cookies and without cross-site tracking. Plausible does not use cookies in its default script configuration and does not profile you across unrelated websites. We use aggregated pageview and event statistics to improve the product.

If we change analytics provider or enable non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for consent before setting them.

4. Payments

When you pay via Stripe Checkout, Stripe may set cookies or similar technologies on Stripe's domain as part of processing payments. See Stripe's privacy notice.

5. Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or break parts of the site. Clearing local storage may remove an unsaved questionnaire progress on your device.
